(nifty title lost during shipment)
Well, here is a quick update. My brother got the police called on him for using my airsoft guns outside. They took the guns till january first. oh well.
My dad was mad at me for letting my "little brother" use the weapons.
If he is capable of piloting a one and a half ton wad of steel on wheels, he can sure as hell play with some plastic toy guns that fire plastic pellets at less than 250fps.
yeah, i live in lititz, the same town David Ludwig is from. But i'll be damned if some idiot kid who decides to shoot someone ruins my ability to go out and do one of the things i enjoy: go out and pretend to shoot people.
Its funny, really. Why? Well, when i got the voicemail from my dad concerning the black and white visit, i was in a car leaving a firing range. We'd been shooting targets with a 30.06 rifle, 150 grain rounds. We had that rifle, along with a 12 guage shotgun (Kyle's younger brother owns this particular shotgun, as do many other kids for HUNTING in freaking PA) and a pistol grip shotgun.
Could we have killed people?
sure.
but then, so could anyone with a bathtub and a golf club.
did we kill anyone?
no. fuck no.
see?
Guns, knifes, trains, cars, king kong, and taxidermy do not kill people. People who load, aim, fire, stab, run down, run over, smash, and syphon kill people.
Saw Aeon Flux, The Lion witch & wardrobe, and Kong in the last few days with Sara, my gorgeous better half (and sole remaining semblance of an excuse to remain employed). Short reviews:
Aeon Flux is a great way to see Charl. Theron kick ass in plausibly realistic ways.
TL,W,&TW was a brilliant movie that captured the essence of the book well, but not perfectly.
Kong was a three hour long safari where all the animals you came to see were violently killed.
that is all.
